Hello, very new to this game, my first character has come to a point where I need to choose which cc spell I want to intially focus on. From what information I can gather from looking at the spell descriptions there seems no reason to take root over stun, since they both have all the same costs and effects except stun will stop ranged attacks while root will not. Am I missing something?

I have come to the same conclusion as him. I don't see why anyone would take root instead of stun.

Some things are immune to stun/blind/etc, very few things are immune to root.
