So the Zorai are masters of magnetism, yet Atys is supposedly devoid of metal. How exactly do the Zorai manage to magnetize anything without metal?

I was going to answer that it's magic, but as I thought about it, your right. You can't have magnetism without some sort of metal.

They use the same kind of magnetism that cures arthritis, increases gas efficiency and harmonizes brain waves in our world. Oh wait... that's magic that doesn't work.

I can think of a couple of possibilities. Of course, there are no refined metals in use by homins. All materials available to them are organics. But refined metals are not the only means to have magnetism at their fingertips.
Our own earth had magnetic properties and magnetic anomalies long before our own species figured out how to manipulate it with refined metals. Atys may have its own magnetic field and anomalies to be tapped.
The other possibility is biomagnetism. Iron and other metals are in our human bodies, those atoms have their own magnetic moments. Some scientists believe there are animals who have inbuilt organic compasses so they know which way north is if they need to.

Thats because the core of our earth is a giant ball of molten rock, and in essence, hat helps to create the different ores and veins of metals.
The planet is a giant seed, no way metal coudl be present there

Well, actually earth is magnetic because it has a core of liquid iron
Ehrrm... Magnetism? I always thought Zorai had the element electricity... Electricity is able to create electro-magnetic fields. Electricity, too, can be produced by biochemical processes. If the Zorai managed to master electricity, then it would be able to them to magnetize things...
Bizango, yes, iron is present in HUMAN bodies, besides traces of other metals. But I wouldn't think that it would be possible for a homin to have even traces of metals inside his body due to there total absence on Atys (yes, I know, the Karawan...). But that surely goes deep into biology

from what i know later planets will be vastly different, one of them supposedly will be a very scifi setting

You know how greeks discovered magnetism?
By rubbing amber stones and noticed it would attract dust...
Amber = fossilized tree sap, it's organic not mineral.
Electricity doesnt really depend on metals, it depends on electrons and movement of them between atoms; ... metal is just more favorable to it.
