i have heard that some of the outposts are working but all i ever see is rubble. so is there information somewhere about how outposts work? like how a guild would take/capture one?

I don't think you can get them right now due to bugs regarding missions.

dang, thought that may be the case. its sounds like its gunna be alot of fun when they are operational.

However the civilization guild officers needed to start the guild missions are not in-game for some reason. So these are currently unavailable.

ah! so thats it. where are these guild officers normally found? also, i have heard that you have to claim the outpost through a mission and then complete other missions to rebuild the outpost. is that the case?

The outpost officers are normally in the captiol building for each race.

The civilization outpost officer gives your guild the mission for the outpost. However, the land for each outpost belongs to a tribe which must be persuaded to give you the land.

There are two ways of doing this.

#1) War. Fight the tribe and defeat it for control of the outpost. Expect regular insurrection attempts from the tribe to take it back (in addition to Kitins, goo, etc).

#2) Tribe outpost officer. If you have high enough tribe fame your guild can get a series of missions which the tribe will use to determine if you're worthy. Complete enough of them in-time and the tribe gives you the outpost, no insurrections so full-time Kitin bashing.

That is how it was described to us during beta at least. We'll see what happens when it finally gets here.
