check your ryzom shortcut and make sure it launches ryzom in correct directory.
Because on Ryzom Core version almost all people are using (and hacking) OpenGL driver under Mac OS, Linux and Windows, and nobody want to maintain D3D9 driver.OpenGL driver from Ryzom Core is a lot more stable than D3D one even under Windows with an ATI card (we fixed a lot of problems).
That's very easy to improve OpenGL driver (only use new extensions) while it's impossible to do that for D3D9 driver (we should recode a D3D10 and D3D11 driver).
