What the heck are you on about, Iala ? Roleplayers getting harassed ? Have you eaten yelk shrooms or something ? Ryzom is one of the rare game where Roleplayers DON'T get harassed as much as on other games, which is nearly incredible considering there's no dedicated RP server. In some other games they MIGHT get bullied as much as you say, but here, I think that roleplayers, semi-roleplayers and non-roleplayer co-exist quite peacefully, mostly because most people here ARE intelligent enough to understand that a different playstyle is NOT necessarly a BAD one. Stop seeing evil everywhere ! It got old months ago !

First, welcome to Atys, newcommer. I hope you will enjoy your stay on our beautiful, yet deadly planet.

Roleplay is welcome and encouraged on Atys by the animation team doing "in character" events every other week or something where even non-roleplayers can contribute. Also, 3 of the 4 civilisations have their own player governments and have meetings together to discuss political matters regarding their nation. The 4th one is Zorai and some citizen guilds of Jungle are trying to get a government for themselves in there as well.

Iala, don't scare the Roleplayers away ! It's the kind of people that we DO want to see staying on Atys !

Methinks the harassment you were victim of is mostly if not entirely unrelated to roleplaying. And no, I've never been harassed nor harassed anybody in Ryzom, even though I'm still a member of a very controversial guild.

I've had to deal with harsh politics as a Guild leader and high officer, but that was in no way related with RP. It was merely consequences of guildmates or former leader's actions affecting the guild as a whole. If you wear a guild tag be ready to face the advantages AND inconveniences that come with it. I've seen you change guilds many times, sometimes in the same week or month. Guild jumpers are frowned upon : how could a guild trust them with anything ? So are drama queens : alarmist speaches left and right about PvP being the root of all evil even in completely unrelated threads annoy a LOT of people. And if you annoy a ton of people, you can expect a few of them to retaliate by annoying you in return. You reap what you sow, especially on Atys.

I'm an honest Fyros, sometimes harsh, but still trying to be diplomatic about it. Learn to be open minded, it should do you A LOT of good.

P.S. I've been trying EVE for the past 2 weeks. It's nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be and I haven't been ganked once though I did get half a cargo's'worth of ores stolen from me. Maybe the social skills and survival instincts I developed in Ryzom are just too high.

Rp on Atys is well recieved. Even non rpers will join in as none critizes their perhaps limited rp abilities. Seems to me that this attitude has fostered a burgeoning of rp not limited to traditional rp but to ppl just playing themselves and living on Atys. I would never have thought of myself as rper when I started mmorps but Kilgore has beome an extension of me and has a very definite outlook on the world he lives.He is not limited by a factional view but a general feeling that kitin are our united foe and Honor and Fairplay are vital.
