Fighting Nakid

Hi peeps,
After reading several posts on the US boards and taking everything in to account I have to disagree with some things and wanted to discuss it here.
It's said in those threads that while fighting in a group with 5 level 80's and 1 level 25 for example the decay of items is caculated on the lowest level item and then that decay is spread amongst the group.
If that was so then how come when I play nakid apart from my trusty ql 100 "Pinsao Made Rounders Bat (tm)" it still decays at an increadable rate when fighting level 142 Frahrah's with 2 other people both wearing/using ql 80+ items?
I may be wrong .. but has anyone else got any theories on this.
(note: I spoke with a GM and was told that the Devs where working on the problem and items are not ment to decay at such a fast rate, although his end comment was "well you know those Frarhar's are quite high level" to which I replied and what else would a group of 9 level 80 - 110 people fight.. level 30 mobs ?)
