Since Windows 7 is almost out now, I think its a good idea if those of you who are planning to get it, to do Ryzom tests and reply back here with the infos. This will surely help others thinking of getting it.
don't forget to add your machine specs:
memory
video card
hard disk
network
service packs (if there are any)
windows updates (if a problem started/stopped after a windows 7 update)
Direct-X version
.NET version
...

I've been running Ryzom on the win7 release candidate since shortly after the RC came out.
I copied my Ryzom directory from a win xp laptop to a spot under my user directory on the new system, made no changes at all, and made a shortcut to the executable in a convenient location.
Never had any problem at all, with playing, updating, or running two clients at a time.
I do have admin privileges.
System:
(dirt cheap homebrew, $250 and leftover bits of an old system)
- AMD Phenom 9350e Agena 2.0GHz Socket AM2+ 65W Quad-Core Processor (cheapest 4 core I found)(and yes, I copied that from the website I bought it on, I wouldn't remember all that crud...)
- onboard ATI Radeon HD 3200 (best onboard graphics I've seen, replaced soon, though.... I hope)
- 4g RAM
- plenty big enough hard drive
- 100mb LAN to cable modem, then across an ocean on a big fat fiber-optic cable to the Ryzom servers over there
Service Packs???
I did keep up with security patches to the RC - never a problem.
Ryzom uses either DX9 (or is it 8?) or OpenGL, so what DirectX you have installed is probably moot - 9 or 10 or 10.1 or whatever.
.NET 3.5, but that has nothing to do with Ryzom
