[Dev Contest] yubOS

Hi,

Here is my work for the dev contest, a flash application simulating an OS Desktop.
You can find explanations of what yubOS is able to do here.
With the standard search and filtering on your inventories, you'll find a tool to handle your craft recipes. Drag & Drop your item in the right slot, save the recipe and yubOS will warn you if items are missing and should be gathered asap.

User interface is mostly in English, and all resources, weapons ... are translated in your favorite language.

Don't hesitate to put some comments on the blog or here if you need some help on understanding tricky windows.

And the ultimate essential thing (and so useless), is that your background will change according to your character's race :) .

Oh, and if you're not ready to set your full API KEY or even your guild one, try to install it on your computer (sorry, but i didn't translate the installation instruction). Apache/PHP is needed and few configuration...

This is by far the best looking application I have seen! Amazing visuals!
And it feels great too. I wish you good luck :)

Btw, the craft windows does not show any characteristics, is this still work in progress?

Hi,
The missing characteristics means that i forgot to handle this kind of craft. I'll take a look at this asap. Thanks for the report.
The characteristics fields are not automatically calculated like in Ryzom, you have to put the results of the craft into each fields.

nice project, 1 visual detail: the background stretches to fit the screen, on widescreen monitors this is less than optimal.

No other negative comments so far ;)

Ah, I see. So I can add ideas and recipes but not "craft" and find new recipes with it? Still very interesting!

That's it, you can't test new recipes inside yubOS as I don't have the exact algorithm and i don't wanna give wrong results. Characteristics are much more like an ordered post-it with real results :)

In other words, you do your experimenting ingame and note the results (pre-craft and postcraft?) in yubOS to have a reminder of what you already tried ?

Yes Kalindra. But you only store postcraft results. I think it's the most important value to have.
