I'm pretty sure noone in the Euro English community knows the answer to this, so I thought I'd try here:

Clocked 125 today, and it appears the spells may be racially locked; I'm Zor and I only get lightning. Do any of you guys know if a) that's true and b) if it is, can you buy them from the respective racial trainers?

i believe i read somewhere that these spells only work on mobs in those areas (EH: lightning works only in zorai lands and mobs in the other 3 areas are immune)

You would need to use a trainer in a different area to lern there magics

Ive not had first hand exsperiance though

Yes, you need a matis trainer to learn poison, just as you need a matis trainer to learn matis crafting.

If you cannot learn another races spell at foreign trainers it is most likely race-locked.

They are not racially limited. You just have to go to the specific race magician trainer to buy it.

Furthermore, they all do the exact same thing on every single mob. No one spell has an advantedge over the other. They are just different looking graphics. I've got Matis poisen and Fyros fire and they do the same thing (and I can confirm the others do as well).

So just pick which one you think looks the best and stick to it.
Sadly you probably wont be able to find anyone making q140 amps to use any of the regional spells (as amp crafting is bugged) so you'll probably be stucking using one of your older acids until they address the magic amp problem.

IMHO lightning then fire look the best. Tryker and then Matis last,

Sure about this? In the First Open Beta Lightning did only damage Zorai mobs, Poison only Matis mobs, usw.

Yep. Tested it. But like I said, who really cares when you can't really use them regardless. Until they fix magic amps which I guess will be patch 1, I dont expect to see any mages using anything greater than acid 8 or 9.

yes they do get fixed, several german players already went on tour on the ATS and posted lengthy reports, and the amps are definitely going to be fixed
