For those trying to find the BOTS in game

Post by stheno2 »

Everytime I see a player when I dig they come to me to "test" to see if I am a bot. I am sick and freakin tired of this.

When I dig I dig to GET AWAY from teaming. leave me the heck alone damn lol.

If I don't reply I get suspected, accused, reported as a bot?!?! wth guys.

Yes I have in the past 100% confirmed someone reported me. Why I know you ask?

I was digging in dyron, this idiot runs all over me, over my sources, doing emotes, sitting on my sources (as I am not a bot I did not marco target at the time so this really pissed me off) then stood still for like 5 mins.

Then to my surprise a CSR shows up. Before the CSR could say a word I ask them, Is there a problem here? I guess you are responding to a report of a bot. Then I proceeded to explain the idiot's behavior. Last I knew he got a suspension.

This was back when Nevrax had Zom. so yea maybe the CSRs respond differently, but I don't care.

LEAVE ME ALONE damn....... I make friends when in towns, when in hunting teams, and in uni chat, NOT WHILE DIGGING!

Anyway enough of the rant. Sarpedonia is NOT a friggin bot, leave me alone if you see a pick. Real simple.

Also I hear that people agro drag diggers that don't "talk" or respond in a way that clears the suspicion of being a bot. GO FOR IT, I'll make you pay.

I believe aggro dragging could be seen as "griefing" and you could file a complaint.

I don't encourage anyone to aggro drag, ever...

Er.. no, not really. Maybe things were different way back when, but the only grief I've ever had while digging was uninformed newblets digging my good sources (and the two TPMers who tried to blow my guildie up because he was "digging on THEIR spot, omglolwtfbbq"). Usually if people talk to you while you're digging it's because, y'know, they're being sociable. If you wanna ignore them, go ahead.

Oh believe me, I have been digging long enough to tell the difference between "trying to be social", "trying to be social in the chance I can catch a bot", or just "outright bot hunting".....

Bad thing is, its those that you choose to ignore that either mess with you or report you just because you cared not talk atm.

I wouldn't post such an agro post if I was that ignorant :-P

Besides, social digging can usually end up in much not needed DP :-P or healing focus downtime at the very least

Chatting while digging = death. I wave or rice every digger I pass, just to make sure they know I'm in the area in case I/they/we die. If they get back to me within two minutes, great! I don't have to respawn immediately because there's no one around >.<

I haven't even heard of bots in ryzom nor do I think it would be useful. Unless in other luck based games where the automated farming or execution of a repetetive action gives you the desired rare drop over time, Ryzom shines with knowledge and wisdom the player has to aquire.

Usually everything needed is available, for the stuff like boss mobs a bot is useless anyway. So the only advantage you might get would be levels. But what are levels in the game? Most player are master in their preferred skills by now, I could only see the use of a bot for a new - maybe frustrated - player.

A player who didn't quite get what Ryzom is about. I encourage every technically skilled player to help the development of the game or the community tools rather then wasting energy into bots. A good example would be the ballisticmystix website, the dressing room involved quite the work but is appreciated by so many.

PS: Aggro dragging is very low. It tells alot about the character using it.

Yepp, but worse are the people that drag aggro on you, and you just follow them giving them their lost mobs back, who then complain you are not allowed to do it, because you are not op battle flagged.

Maybe you just need a different digging style, I mean with more explosions and gas ;)

Well sorry stheno2 but I your rant about not wanting to be sociable is not a convincing argument to just say hello to the passer by, I mean whats the big deal?

For all we know this could be just a rant ploy for players not to bother you so you can do exactly what they think you were doing in the first place.

Just say hi .. :)
