Creating Ring Scenarios works usually like this for me:
1) a lovely idea comes out of nowhere in the middle of the day, usually at work
2) I take notes and draw first sketches like story flow or puzzle elements, sketches are very important!
3) I sit down later at home and refine the ideas, usually looking up stuff here and there, also taking notes on problems I might run into.
4) I don't feel like firing up the ring plus it's usually pretty late, I go to bed

5) Full of energy and even more ideas I start up the ring and implement a rough sketch of the later scenario. At this point I usually discover many limitations to my ideas.
6) Slightly frustrated I try to compress my ideas into the ring limitations, sometimes it is not possible to do so and I need to invent or emulate missing features with the ring.
7) A very very basic working scenario is usually done by now. Plus a rather large list with stuff to do and bugs/limits to work around.

8) Full of energy and new ideas I return to the ring, my subconciousness solved some of the problems during the night and I'm able to advance pretty well.
9) Until I delete something by miss clicking. Objects can be restored again, but the functions and logic linked to them is gone. Now it's usually time to look through all events and triggers for blank conditions or actions (blank due to the object removal).
10) The Scenario is broken. Not working. By now backups come to my mind, yes, those backups I forgot to do when the scenario was still working. Will remember them next time. For sure. After checking everything twice the scenario is still broken. Frustrated and tired I go to sleep.

11) Full of energy and new ideas I return to the ring, I had a wierd dream about pink yubos and kipees talking to me. The first thing I notice is the reason why the scenario is broken. It was so obvious and simple. Of course. Always is.
12) Back to work. I have mostly done my schedule, now it's candy time. Eye Candy. This is rather important. Check NPC Names, equip them, set faces, check House, Sign, Scenery positions etc. Also replace some crude <insert story here> text with excerpts from a random book I read. Add a nice description and vĂ³ila - done!
13) Testing time. Too embarressed and unsure about the outcome, a close friend or guildie is the first victim to be thrown into the scenario. It works really well up to some point, because people think different then I do. It was obvious what to do, why does he need a sign there? Time to take notes, fix this, add that.
14) Looking at the 3 Papers full of notes and scribbles in combination with the empty bottle of wine I decide to postpone the correction work. Good night.

15) More or less full of energy and some headaches I return to the ring. Who added all those bugs into my flawless scenario? Alright time to work on them. I usually add / fix some of the Eye Candy at this point, plus peoples suggestions how to dense up the atmosphere.
16) Done. Public Testing. "/u A new Scenario is waiting for you at the Ring Terminal etc.". Of course nobody comes, except those 2-3 close friends you had as testers before. They praise your scenario as well done and wish they had more time to work on theirs.
17) Unless you have a friend or a second account to host the scenario the timeline ends here. You don't want to lurk ages in the ring just in case *someone* might by accident miss click on your scenario and join it. If it happens I get some feedback and some minor fixes, but the scenario is usually solid.
