Interestingly enough, this does not seem possible in many other games too.
Neither in City of Heroes/Villains, nor WoW, nor Chronicles of Spellborn, nor Age of Conan, nor Rappelz, nor any other game I tried/played so far, have I ever found an option to completely delete my account from their records.
In
Spellborn I even had to contact the support by ticket to stop my subscription, because they did not even have an option for "freezing" a running subscription at their account management section.
That alone would have made me stop playing it. Besides other issues.
After I contacted one of their GMs who told me what to do and then wrote the ticket with some choice words on what I thought of that practice, I simply received a reply from support with the word "fixed".
And that was it.
Two days later I received another reply that informed me: That my subscription had run out due to "problems with billing". *LOL*
So, while I don´t like that practice of keeping account data infinitely too much too, it seems it´s sadly common practice in the industry.
At least that´s my experience.
But up until now it never did me any harm.
So, just don´t subscribe and you´re all set.
Und, schade das es Dir nicht gefällt.
Auch wenn du nur "mal sehen" wolltest
