Hello there,

Originally the game was just like any other P2P MMO. That is, you bought the client and then payed a monthly fee. Then the company had financial troubles and the game changed hands to another company, but that company had problems, and then....well, a mess ensued. The game shut down for a while, but has now come back. The plan, as far as I know, is to make it P2P again whenever they can. After all, they have no source of income right now! However, last I heard the pricing is planned to be lower than most other MMOs. As for when it will change...no idea. The original plan was that it would change to P2P in January, but as you can see that did not happen. For now, just think of it as an indefinite free trial. :)

Erm... I hope you have your fireproof suit on, because the cash shop idea has never been very welcomed by most of the community members (especially the elders). Your "quick thought" has been suggested many times before and been rejected sometimes quite aggressively. Some people would rather leave than have a cash shop, go figure. They hate the idea with passion.

I would still play, but the game would probably not be getting much of my hard earned money, if any at all. I don't need to pay to make my character look unique. In over a year of play, I only met one toon who looked like mine and only met it once. *shrugs*

Under the previous company, you could download the game for free and play the trial as long as you wanted (no time limit) but you were stuck on Silan and couldn't level past 21. I personnally played 4 months on Silan before I subscribed and went to the Mainland. I didn't regret it.

I can't think of any items one would buy from an item shop, all stuff is player made, plus I am pretty sure it would kill the community and the game. Ryzom is no generic korean grindan mmo, Ryzom is quite different.

Buying a nice sword in an Item shop = 5.95
Buying a monthly fee for a "normal" P2P Game = 15,95
Ryzom = priceless! :p
(note to self: make a video outta that! :D )

Hehehe, no. Look here for the new prices to come soon (tm) ;)

At the moment, some weird legal issues in France prevent them from letting us pay, as far as we know.
Ryzom´s the only game people are actually complaining about, not being able to pay for! :p :D

Ouch...

Weeeelll.... I´ll just say that this Game deals to a different clientèle than WoW, or Runes of Magic.
It IS different, and it will hopefully STAY different.

Now... to all others:
*readies the firehose*
Bring it on! :D
