*LOL*
Right you are mate. :D
But I hope the graphics options aren´t the only things you like about this game ;)

And if now if you hit "u" for ingame options you´ll find more useful things that will make your head spin too ;)
That is, if you don´t know already ;)

Welcome to Ryzom and enjoy your stay.

You're right :)

Direct3D mode on my PC never worked as fine as OpenGL. All BSOD, Ryzom crash, etc... are appearing only when using D3D driver :(

It seems like OpenGL was the first and main 3d driver for NeL (and for Ryzom :p ) and because to ATI incompatibilities with OpenGL (in 2004 at least), a D3D driver has been created.

Having an ATI card I have the opposite experience: the game runs much more better in DirectX than OpenGL.

Also I love to use some bloom effects that makes the world very cool for me, and it doesn't work in Ryzom if I use OpenGL drivers.

Generally, you should use DirectX with an ATI card and OpenGL with a NVidia card.

Interesting, Bloom works in both modes for me. And I never noticed any ill effects, besides those mentioned when using D3D.
Appart from the Bloom giving me headaches, that is. That´s why I barely use it. XD
Besides, with Bloom on full tilt, it all tends to look a whee bit too "70's adult movie" for me. ;) *LOL*
