I suppose your RAM is not enough, Ryzom is using around 900 MB of RAM on my PC.

If you don't have enough RAM, Windows should use your swap file and your FPS will seriously decrease

Try out the DirectX and the OpenGL mode. You can try them by force selecting them by running the ryzom_configuration_rd.exe in your installation directory. Maybe one runs better than the one selected by the Auto setting.

Ryzom is very resource intensive. It'll eat up the best part of 2gigs of RAM if you let it.
