Any News on Ryzom's future?

The silence from the Dev team is deafening. Just want to mention that we seem to be losing players here and there to other games, SWG included.
Might be time to shake things up again..ie an event or "something".

The initial flurry of patches, events (and almost-events) and communication was very beneficial - I hope the devs and event team aren't planning to let that slip.

Indeed I am hoping the very same thing.

I think the word flurry is over-generous
my hope is that there are still legal obstacles to full communication, my fear is that, well.... Maybe I won't get into that again.
Anyway, the short answer is no - there have been a few player run events of late but nothing from WG. And like you say, people are giving up and moving on. I rarely see anyone these days on atys - the place is almost deserted.

News, hmm... March is free?

This fact, coupled with the
lurker syndrome, will probably leave Atys even more barren each day. Sure, there's a few new folks filtering in, but how long are they going to stick around in an empty game? I don't understand why everyone can't just log in occasionally and enjoy Atys while it lasts.

I was just about to post a simular thread
There has been a steady amount of new players recetnly arriving to Atys however we have also been loosing alot of older players to other games.
Billing was ment to be up ages ago, I can only hope that the delay is due to a patch where we will see some new content along with the usual bug fixes. I would love to see a dev plan for the next 6-12 months. How about a dev blog this will keep all of us informed and also act as a catalyst for bringing in newer players, espically if the blog is also posted on various mmorpg related sites.
Please dont keep us in the dark like Gameforge did as all that done was magane to kill our wonderful game untill Speiderweb brought life to Atys again. I really dont want history to repeat its self for a 3rd time.
Although Nevrax where pprro on the marketing side they always had the Timeline active which shown previous patches, EP2 etc and where we where on the Atys timeline, and this also shown us what we could expect in the future along with dev screenshots of various items which we would see in game at some point.
Alot of players have moved on, but most of them are waiting for an update, content and news of the game, I honestly believe that with decent communication about what is happening now and what the future plans are we will see older players return, espically when new things are introduced into the game.
There have been some encouraging signs, like a quick fix to the recent patch as it did show the community that Ryzom was still being developed, cant we just keep the ball rolling and not hide things away from the community.

If you take a closer look at the Events, it was just stuff the CSR-Team did, nothing that would require a dev and mostly just a repetition of older Events.
So if u look at what did happen, there was just the bugfix-patch/patch-the-patch.
the Communication... ok there was some, but there wasn't much information in it, they didn't even reveal there "identy" yet, we just know that it's Winch Gate Ltd. now from the whois entry and the Eula.
So here they are following the patterns of the former owners...

I quote everyone.
While at reopening the lack in communication was not a big issue now, with Ryzom that dinged 7 months since reopening just few days ago, it's time to start making things more visible.
Even if you, devs, have to say sorry we are few and we need time, now we need to know the plans, no matter if you need 2 months or 6 months.
Now you have lost a good moment to start billing. I think if you open billing just now, you'll get few subs, much less than 2 months ago (i know it was not your fault).
Don't misunderstand me: i think you have done a great job till now, you and csrs. But a good communication is the key if you want to be successful with Ryzom.
I know a lot of people that don't wanna return or even to start because they think the game is not evolving or even don't know what they really can find in Atys.
Please, we are a mature community, but the few hundreds veterans that would pay anyway even 2 accounts to enjoy Atys will not be enough to make Ryzom profitable.
Listen to us, i think if you post some plan and some news around about the future, more people would be back or would start playing....

Howdy All,
Just a note from a handful of older players. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING !!!!
This is due to:
1) Complete disregard and lack of information / communication with the vets of this game from the devs. Vets have been with the game the longest and gave very good input that NEVER even got responded to.
2) The Fact that the devs allowed a MASSIVE stronghold to be created by CAREBEARS and underhanded deals between the guilds within the game.
3) The fact that the essence of Ryzom is no longer here as much as we hoped it would be. The essence of the true original Ryzom has been lost.
4) 7 Months with no communication can not mean good things and its not worth putting the effort into a DEAD GAME.
I am sorry to all who disagree but can tell you that there is atleast 10 of the highest level players not returning and complete guilds disapearing once again. The days of MKOA / INFINITY / TPM / OV (HONOURABLE GUILDS as you will see in the temples) have passed once again. Unless the devs pull a rabbit out of there hat i would start considering games with a FUTURE.....
Regards (& Sad GOODBYES)

That was funny
Thanks for that.
Still would be nice to know why the domain is registered in the name of a chef, on top of the above...
