This is a simple request:

for some reason, the Annoucements section is still showing a very old news from october 2007.

People that doesn't speak english very well can go confused, expecially if they jump to that section without reading the General section.

It's the second time I had to post a correction in other forums to specify that the post is very old and not related to the actual situation of Ryzom.

Unfortunately, many people don't pay attention to the date of the posts and jump to wrong conclusions.

Is it possibile to remove that section or to keep the correct and actual announcements from the dev team there and not in general?

Is there any reason why that section is still visible even with misleading information into?

Otherwise, drop it and at least sticky the official threads in general area so we don't gotta search for them...

Indeed, use it ! There is no reason why newcommers would stop to look in the general section for announcements when they have that Announcement section up there. I know how easy it is to transfer a topic from one section to another, it's a matter of a few clicks !

If the reason is that they want us to be able to comment, they just need to create a stickied comment thread and link it in the announcement post. Just like Marjo used to do.

Or is it that they still don't have accesses to post in the Announcement section after all this time ? Feels like a case of Board Admin 101.

Yes I have wondered for a long while why that is still there. Strange that the new owners have kept an out dated piece of sad news at the top of the list.

It's to remind us what happens if we don't behave.
