Jewelry Question

Is the only purpose of jewelry to hold enchantments? Since it doesn't show up on the character, it can't be for looks. Is making jewelry without any enchantments a complete waste of time, other than the xp gained? I have very limited experience with jewelry crafting, but I am curious as to whether there is something about it I am missing.
I suppose if you wear a full set of jewelry all with enchantments on it, it would give you a substantial boost in stats.
If someone could confirm that it is just for holding enchantments I would appreciate it. And if you know of some other use/purpose for jewelry, please enlighten me.

Only purpose of jewelry right now is to have 10 more slots to put hp/sap/focus/stamina bonuses in.

Jewellery *should* also be able to give resists to fire, cold, acid etc. depending on mats used - but this feature is not yet implented.

Ok. Thanks for the responses. So jewelry is just for hp/stam/sap/focus bonuses. And eventually will help with resistance to certain attacks. Maybe jewelry crafting is something I'll take up later, but for now I'll stick to making items that are in more demand.

Perhaps +5 HP jewelry doesnt look appealing or sound like it is in demand but +30 HP jewelry is. You can wear a complete set for a total of +300 HP and it cost less mats to make than 2 peices of heavy armor. What makes items in demand is the quality level and overall utility of the items being made. There isnt much demand for Q10 heavy armor nor for +5 Stat bonus jewelry. But when you start getting up to q50 armor or +25 bonus jewelry thats a different story.
Jewelry is also good for doing missions.

Unless I am mistaken, jewelry unlike most gear does not degrade. Or at least it degrades very slowly. This is both good for people wanting jewelry and perhaps not so good for someone wanting to specialize in getting a high skill in jewelcraft.

It does not currently degrade, which isn't much of a problem for crafters how have been specializing in jewelry todate as people are still getting to higher and higher levels (read more and more hp/sap/etc added to the jewelry), so a crafter will have a steady supply of customers. It is a problem for lower level crafters (market is already saturated), and will be a problem once we have max level crafters.
