it was all going so well until i get ACCESS VIOLATION today. 5 days its been without one error and now this, what does this mean can someone please explain to me?

sounds like something on your computer changed and is conflicting with SOR, someone might be able to help more if you give more details on your problem, like what changes to anything had you made before you got the error, when did you get the error (i mean what were you doing, not the actual time), and did the error give any more details at all?

I was getting this not long ago and fixed the problem by turning off EAX in the configuration. Now I'm getting it again after the new patch, so disabling Software Sound has made it work once again. So something in the last 2 patches has changed the way the game uses sound, I'm assuming Soundlblasters as mine is an Audigy 2.
Try disabling sound altogether first, if that solves the crashing, then each of the other options I mentioned.
