Not very obsessed to hunt all bosses in game day and night, but bosses hunts are still nice from time to time. As population grows though, unless you keep a calendar and be on the spot at that very quarter of an hour when the boss spawns you have no chance to find any boss alive for months.
I realise for some people might be fun to keep track of the exact minute when they spawn. No problem with that, but I guess there are other players like me who love to find bosses by accident too and for whom hunting with watch in hand spoils all immersion. Could we have at least part of bosses spawning really aleatory? Is it hard to implement?

Its an art, just like learning how to sneak.
Personally im very satisfied with the way things are atm, and I thought the kami guilds in general was perfect at everything, so you should be getting tons. Right?

Wonder why its always the runner up who scream for a change to the rules...
Most of us, that put time and effort into this manages fine, dont change the fact that effort gives rewards.

A random "let's go see if any bosses are up", followed by a scouting of all purple and red bosses in the world, usually nets us one single live boss these days. Not exactly bountiful, but not hopeless yet either.
If you really like to run into them by accident, they should randomize the spawn location as well as the time. But I'm not sure that wouldn't kill the whole 'scouting for bosses' part and make running into them by accident the only way to catch one up anymore...

Well, in the past 2 weeks I/my guildies/my friends have run into 5 or 6 bosses while digging (and occasionally managed to run out again too). I guess this is less likely to be the case for the more sought-after bosses, and ofc the NPCs.
However, more randomised spawn times would be ace - just to make things more interesting.

I get my fair share of bosses and still think the whole system needs a total revamp. Randomisation of timing would be awesome, if they popped anything between 1-4 days from their death it would be nice enough for me.
I can see what people like about the idea of random pops but I think it might be a bit rough on some people to have their digging spot colonised randomly by rakoo or their nice safe najab hunt spot instantly popping yetikya.

I somehow see randomised locations as being a major coding headache. I mean, bosses like their space and should they just start randomly popping up all over the place it could get very messy.
*pictures Kinkoo spawning on teleports and Jugukoo spawn in herbs* Edit: Yeah, what Jack said
However, there's nothing wrong with the idea of a random timer. I don't know why it wasn't implemented forever ago when they messed with named timers.
They just need to set a min and a max time. Say 24 hours minimum, and a maximum based on server population.

poor diggers.
just like the halloween. damn if you do, damn if you dont.
mechanic behind spawning bosses can be soo much more than just 'pop'.
like... i dont know, would need some work from homin to actually spawn one ? gradyally increasing the spawn if kills/time ratio is kept, whatever. just an idea.
camping* the spot and figuring out static spawn scedule is not work.
* yes yes i know, we dont camp, we only visit it regularly, park our second toon in there wheres safe or 'knowing very well that it's boss spawn' we park our toon good distance from it or we dont actually visit mob spawn at all, we just run 150m past that spot.

I was always happy when people didn't hunt Vorkoo because few diggers could take that oath, started to think it belonged to me
Just to make it very clear. I am not complaining and we don't miss bosses, we still struggle with 2 too full GHs.
It's just the industry of getting them that bothers my immersion; Ryzom in many ways is different from other games, but not in this respect. Sneaking to the boss location is easy for most players who spent 2-3 months in game and don't cry for a dp. Checking is fun. But for me keeping a calendar with day, hour, minute of spawn is for no reason a skill or fun
And if, after implementing a paying system, Ryzom is still successful, knowing exact hour and day will be mandatory for all.
