one simple thing to do, all of us can copie this link below :
http://www.jeuxvideo.com/avis/0000/00009774-0.htm
and copy it on other games players private guild forum, explaining them the game is free.
So they don't take any risk in playing it
We could also create an on line-flyer to present them the game with a link and the fact it is free to play.
in that way we could target the players from both old game and new games which would like to change games.
we have to remember that some of them arrived only recently on a new game, some of them they are still on free trial and didn't event heard of ryzom.
it didn't cost us anything and we didn't take any risk in trying it.
if only one people try it, maybe he will present it to his guild compagnions.

I made 5 annoncement on 5 differents wow guilde forum:
after 3 hours, one has response negative, 1 positive, 3 had only read the post 3 times each.
one people want to try the game, i suggest that we worked togethers on a RP presentation of the game , a short story presenting the vision we had of our avatar, his life and way of thinking, so that we could post it on guild forums.
from what i was reading on wow forums, there are a lot of people deserting the game for more recent one, but they don't realy know were to go.
I know that our game is not realy more recent, but i'm sure they will admit that our female avatars are much more sexy than wow's.

If some people had an idea to create a story we could tell on forum, please post it here, i think it's also good to post our story, even if its on the same forum.
i will also post a list of guilde i've prospected.

It was mentioned in other threads already, but needs to be quoted for emphasis:
The announcement section is on top of the forums spreading depressing old news about ryzoms death.
One of the first tasks in marketing should have been either to remove this thread or to post a new message over the "ryzom-dies"-one.
I mean first thing a new user sees is a terrible news post about ryzom dying... it was called "anti-marketing" and indeed it is...
It was also nice to have some feedback from you guys what you are currently planning regarding marketing. Did something happen already or is all in "will-be-soon"-state?
Dunno the phrase in english, in german it goes along "Tue gutes und rede darĂ¼ber" - "Do good and talk about it"
You really need to talk about what you are currently on. Live with the community would be soooo much easier...
What about a dev blog?
But rule #1: Marketing is communication. Not enough communication is not enough marketing. At least one post a week is needed by you guys! At least... You think you got nothing to say at all... think further. Something has happened! So tell us, please!
*love to stop by checking whether you are all working as you should. Don't you dare letting ryzom die once more!!"
