PR entrances (lore?)

[Don't know whether it's the right place to ask, but I don't think I can post anywhere but newb board]
I have read somewhere that after Kitins have been pushed back to the prime roots, Karavan sealed all the entrances there. However in-game, homins visit PR almost on daily basis. Does this have any explanation?

As Atys grows, the layers increase. Homins can only access the top level of the Prime Roots.

There was an attempt by the Guild of Elias to reach the deeper levels in search of traces of older homin tech. But they have not been heard from for a few years now. It is uncertain though if they still lives or were killed by the kitins. And if I remember correctly, there was one Karavan emissary who should relay news if possible.

The Entrances told of in the Lore are those in the old lands.
Today, after the great exodus and the time of twilight in the save havens of hidden caverns in the upper layers of the roots, the homins live in new lands.
These were found and "declared save" by Kami and Karavan alike who led the survivors there and began to pick up stragglers and those who did not reach the "rainbows" (teleporters) in time to flee to the underground shelters.
On the old Refugee "Islands" and today Silan.

In the new lands it came as quite a shock to all involved when Kitin were discovered there too, after the homins had established their first cities.
Prime Root entrances exists of course and are controlled be either Kami or Karavan.

I case the Kitin attack they mostly burrow from beneath the bark and break through somewhere close to their target. As can be seen here:

The dark brown heap in the fist minute, is such a Kitin entrance hole near Pyr.

This question was asked by many until it was answered by officials a few years ago. As Karm said, the explanation is that what we can visit is the upper level of the Prime Roots, and what is sealed off by the Karavan is apparently the deeper levels of the Prime Roots. :)

How much deeper it goes is anybody's guess...

the kitin have been pushed back a lot from the level of pr we have access to as well over the years. When rushin was a fresh faced young zorai kinchers used to guard the tunnels leading in to all the prime roots. Back then almost everyone was much too weak to fight them so even getting into umbra could take many hours and a lot of dp.

of course when we got inside we had to deal with the kitin patrols, and many, many more aggro mobs than you see these days.

ahh fond memories, and i always chuckle when i hear people saying how hard it is down there now ;-)

Seems to me though the kami are guarding the deeper levels not the karavan. i see a couple of suited karavan warriors huddling by their teleport devices, but head to midway point if you want to see the most likely access point to go deeper :)

Actually the interesting thing is that there are no Karavan in the Prime Roots at all. Their teleport operators and tribe representatives down there are all homins of the Kuild tribe.

The description of the Karavan also stated that they're present everywhere over Atys except in the Prime Roots.
