Hey all,

After taking the easy way out and crafting with wondermats, I finally spent hours on a killing,foraging spree to gether the best mats available on noobland.....

I was happly crafting away, enjoying the more powerfull stats:
(Example: wondermat staff qual 19 makes Acid 2 do 52 HP Dam, while choice mats qual 19 makes it do 82 HP Dam and casts in half the time)

Anyway... one of my crafted items (Balm Sword) became ENCHANTED as part of the craft, but with a spell I dont even know!!! (FEAR1)

I can enchant items so I am aware of creating "Spell Crystals" then enchanting the item and loading with SAP (can also create SAP crystals), but was shocked to see that before i even selected TAKE the item i just crafted it was already enchanted...


I am not complaining, but if this is a bug, i can see some advantages that my not be fair... if this is meant to happen, can someone tell me how/why so i can exploite this feature.

I've seen this happen maybe once every 40-50 items, but I don't think its ever been a spell I didn't have. Yet another bug that's been around for a while...

Why do you say its a bug ? Perhaps its intentional that occasionally a crafter will craft an already-enchanted weapon ?

I dont think it is a bug.

I created 10 wands the other day, one came with Cold50 and another with Acid50. The wands were basic and could only hold 100 sap so 2 charges.

I have cold40 but I do not have acid at all.

I think it is deliberate and a welcome benefit.

I agree. While levelling melee weapon craft I have had several weapons come out with an enchantment, and I think it's intentional.

As I am not a mage all the items have had spells I don't possess (apart from my baby heal spell) such as stun, acid and fear.

As the weapons were crafted from vendor mats and were pretty awful I never used any but simply sold them back to the vendor. I've never had it happen with harvested mats, but that may be coincidence.

I've actually had this happen with wonder+harvest mats too, although I can't recall if its ever happened with no wondermats.

The reason I think its a bug, rather than intentional, is that there are enough things wrong with the craft system that it just doesn't feel like everything's working quite right now. Most noticable is the craft to item spec message that has an item turn out at -1 to spec and does so repeatedly.

This is why some dev feedback on if such things are bugs would be appreciated.

I agree, its often frustrating to not know what is intentional and what isnt. Sadly tho, i fear we wont get a reply.

Reported this to a guide when I experienced it the first time, she was the opinion it's a bug. Only got this with storemats so far.

No satire or zynism intended but this makes SoR quite comparable to our lives.

Although I am a strongly investigative type in RL matters I discovered that it spoiled the fun in every game -be it online or offline- if I searched relentlessly for a technical explanation on everything I didn't understand or didn't find fair.

Life on earth is full of mysteries no one will ever explain to us so why shouldn't it be too on Atys.

The very first magic staff I crafted in the last Open Beta had Acid 3 or 4 on it! I thought wow! and promptly sold it

The enchantments are intentional. It was mentioned in a patch around the end of Focus Beta (I think).
