Magic bonuses and other weapons?

Is there anyway to get the magic bonuses that are associated with staffs etc onto other weapons.
Is it locked to a limited variety of weapons or is it a stanza you can add to any weapon crafting plan?
Thanks

sorry deitrich, the staff stats are only for that weapon, as its a magic only weapon (although it can hit for some dmg in melee)
so for melee you should either make a choice/excellent etc weapon, or get someone to make it for you,
also, you might want to get someone, or yourself to get a better mage staff, as your lvls and spells become better, the staff becomes worthless

I am hoping that the mage gloves that are going to replace the staves (in patch 1 or whatever they call it these days after the usual number of patches/fixes) will actually be considered gloves and not weapons, so they will allow you to wield a normal weapon and still get the bonuses. But that is probably hoping for too much

Thanks.
So unless these gloves come in and allow for the bonuses to be independent of the weapon then you have to switch between mage staff and weapon when you want to change from casting to hitting
Oh hum.

One thing that I have been missing in quite some games are 2h magic staffs.
I don't know if any of you have seen the staffs that GMs and Guides have been wielding but that is what I would call an awesome magic staff
The staffs right now look like little sticks or just straight branches.. not really what I expect from a powerfull magic staff.
And if you actually would have 2h Magic amplifiers or staffs, they could maybe be used for combat as well. Don't give them too much damage, ok I can live with that, but give all the mages out there a cool staff

Yep, as I mentioned in another thread somewhere on this forum, wielding a puny piece of firewood does not do wonders for the self confidence of a soon-to-be mighty warrior mage
.
If I am expected to wield a piece of wood rather than cold steel to benefit from any magic bonuses, at least give me something resembling a quarter staff (the good old classic DnD mage companion) or similar - not something kids would laugh at.
Well, even if the gloves do not let you wield a weapon at least they will look much better than the current staff (unless the design is entirely tasteless - but come on, a French company should be able to come up with something fashionable
).

I couldn't agree more.

U can always Cast staffless
. erm no, dont do that, most probably get killed...
I agree, when i was waving my little piece of wood at a frahar, it just knocked it out of my hand
.
I would much prefer having a quarterstaff that i can twirl at blazing speeds and bash hapless mobs on the head with. Bah well, those gloves had better be really shiny

Since I get through 2-3 staves now a day (ya thanks DEVs, put the entropy slider back to how it was, our sup mat gear has gone already a long time ago now) I often do now.
Actually it's not totally useless, and looks a lot cooler =P
