Why cant i play ryzom?

I have completley installed ryzom, and followed all the guides but i still cant play. For some reason every time i load up the game all i'm greeted with is a dark screen. What can i do to change this?
Please help.

Could you submit some more info, as to what hardware you got, your configuration, any error messages, and at which point you get a black screen?
Ryzom should run without problems on any common modern hardware with approximately 1.5GHz CPU, and atleast 512MB RAM, with i386 or ia64/amd64 architecture (not sure if Ryzom runs on PowerPC computers).
