Recent changes in Ryzom

I have been out of Ryzom for some time due to yet another (but I hope final) bout with the SWG crack pipe, a very heavy work schedule at Motorola, and a foreign trip to Athens, Thessaloniki, and Istanbul.
Could anyone let me know what changes have occurred in Ryzom in the last few months? In particular are missions and quests on the mainland more numerous and more rewarding?
I am hoping to finally return tonight to Ryzom (Arispotle server) with my 5 Ryzom chars: Amphiaraus and Amalia (Matis), Morbius (Fyros), Otho (Zorai), Altaira (Tryker). Amphiaraus is my best char, his melee level is about 100. The others are melee level 30-50. I am hoping to find players to group with when I log in. I live in the USA Central time zone and hope to log in 7PM-10PM CST on worknights, and any time (except ultra late) on weekends, as my schedule permits.
With its version trees, lack of combat levels, advanced crafting and resources, and highly detailed combat strategies, I see Ryzom as the most advanced of all MMOs. In addition its player community is amazing.
I am still grieving over the death of pre-CU SWG. I see Ryzom as the natural home of mature players who want a quality MMO as opposed to just another simple-minded ripoff of "World of Warcraft".
Thanks,
Amphiaraus

Should I be worried that it says on the subscription page -- "Ryzom subscriptions are currently disabled" ?
What's the story with Gameforge -- I don't see too many changes in Ryzom. I reactivated my Ryzom account in Sept 2007 though did not play till last night.
If I remember correctly if things are working normally, my credit card is debited monthly for Ryzom, unless I contact game admins and tell them I'm cancelling my accounts - is this the case?
I was logged into Ryzom yesterday night and did a bit of hunting north of Yrkanis.
I wonder if my guild "Phaedrea's Tears" is still active.
I will be visiting relatives this weekend, but I hope to log into "Saga of Ryzom" at about 8PM CST on Sunday Dec 2nd. Dec 2nd is my birthday
Thanks all, and thanks for the kind words Acridiel,
Amphiaraus

"If nobody shows up, the servers will be shut down in less than 3 weeks at liquidator's request."
Let's hope Ryzom survives -- to lose such a wonderful game, with devoted players in so many countries, would be a tragedy.
Thanks,
Amphiaraus

That's because right now Ryzom is free - for those of us who were currently subscribed when the current situation began. New accounts can only play on Silan, can't subscribe and get to mainland - except apparently if you get an old boxed version and use the code on it...

Good deal for you, you can play. Gameforge France (the subsidiary created to own Ryzom) is kaput. Out o' business. Dead.

Nope, no charges are happening, all free at the moment.
I'm glad you could get in, and would be happy to team up for a hunt if I'm around when you are. I have some skills in the right range, I think.

It's a bless that those are still being sold. But how many of them are left on the market ? Who knows...
Is it considered a fraud to sell a box of a game from a company that no longer exists ? I'm just wondering. Because once the key is used, it's not worth reselling. So the stores are somehow stuck with them.

I have the following 5 Ryzom chars (all from Arispotle):
Amphiaraus, Matis, home city Yrkanis (melee about 100, magic about 50 off -50 def)
Amalia, Matis, home city Yrkanis (melee about 50, magic about 26 off - 50 def)
Otho, Zorai, home city Cities of Intuition (melee about 50, magic about 25 off - 25 def)
Altaira, Tryker, home city Fairhaven (melee about 50, magic about 25 off - 25 def)
Morbius, Fyros, home city Pyr (melee about 50, magic about 25 off - 25 def)
I am in Chicago, on worknights I log in around 7PM or 8PM CST when I can.
Let me know if anyone is interested in having my chars in their hunting groups.
I am also interested in joining "expeditions" from one Homin homeland to another so my chars can pick up TPs and more easily move around on Atys.
Even if the worst happens my plan is to enjoy Ryzom while I can.
Thanks,
Amphiaraus
