Just wondering and hoping

I've been playing RF Online for a while, but it is pretty boring and the controls are atrocious - a poorly implemented combo of click-to-move and wasd.
I also tried out Entropia Universe - far, far worse in the control department and it is EXPENSIVE if you add money.
Both of these games also have many other negative qualities (e.g. lousy community, grindfest, pointless, etc...) Right now I am just focusing on controls. when I try out new games
I don't get it. Why can so many crappy games make it while Ryzom struggles?

It isn't that ryzom is struggling, ryzom is just fine, but the company who owns Ryzom never really has any funds or simply has no heart in it.

Cause ppl teached to eat what they get and don't ask questions
Second is lack of experience - lots of ppl don't even understand what they play and think their games are "so wonderful"... starting playing games from mmm 8 years old from old old even cga games i now (well i love myself - realy realy) can choose what i want and not eat that "brand new overhelming edge playing experince **** Crap part IV"
Remember my friend who hated computer games until i showed her some titles

Ryzom came out shortly before WoW, which syphoned an awful lot of players from Ryzom, the company also released a couple of really stupid patches that cost them alot of players.
Then they introduced OP's, which should have been implemented at release. This meant that a community that was flourishing and really developing socially, now had to fight each other, it was akin to starting a civil war, where brother fought brother, this also cost a ton of players.
Add all of that, to the financial constraints that Neverax had, which resulted in poor marketing and little new or worthwhile content, that you got no new blood, or an incentive for older players to stay on.

simple still not many people know about Ryzom, range need definitally a revamp to make it more viable AND to be present on Silan (atleast 1 handed ranged). This to make Ryzom more different to other Fantasy MMO's.

Bad marketing decisions and a company that doesnt talk to its customers.
Gameforge really [putting in brackets here so Boroshi doesn't have to edit it later -Nightblade]
content content content - the little content we did have - mostly made us turn on each other. the content we didnt have, sounded amazing.

Yea, those battles over the spires were amazing. Fighting the kitins in the Kitin Lair with a large group was pretty fun too, and had some nice rewards; the area down there had some great exploration value too. I also liked how all those more than hundred rites turned out, unique missions that didn't get boring like the normal ones. Have you seen the goo area where the evil Karavan are doing weird experiments, btw? There's some really crazy mobs over there, and pretty nice materials too. It's also nice how we can create our own scripts in the ring.

to say nothing of more areas to explore - deeper and deeper in the prime roots, 'other planets' , Jena-duk/Ma-duk finally showing their cowardly faces so i can finally spit in them personally rather than having to tell off their head priests
, 300 level cap (not like i'll ever reach 250 anything anyway :cool
, the list goes on and on for a long time....

Thanks guys, that's an excellent requirements list for the new dev team, which we should be getting very soon(tm) now.
