Ryzom

Yeah, yeah, I know I'm late to the party, and the doors might even be closing for good, but I figure I'll go ahead, post this, and hope for the best.

So, yeah, hi. I'm new here. My character's name is Andron and I've been putzing around the starter island for the past week or so. I've been having a good time leveling up to the cap, crafting crappy pants and boots, harvesting basic and fine items, and trying to pay attention to as much as the lore as I can get. I'm hoping, like the rest of you, that Ryzom will pull through in the end.

Well, that's about it for now. Guess I'll keep browsing the forums and webpage for info to make my hopeful journey to the mainland as painless as possible. Maybe I'll make some alts as well.

Nice to see that there is still interest in the game during this rough period.
The cap was suppoesed to be lifted while the game was liquidated, but someone forgot?

Not forgot... it was actually removed, for about three days. After that, it was reimposed. Now, I suppose, since all devs left meanwhile, there is nobody left to remove it again.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. Yeah, I was surprised too when I hit 21 and I got messages saying that I couldn't get anymore XP. And right when I was getting the dual blade action going on as well (only realized around 18 that I could use my dagger along with the duelist blade). I'll take it as a sign that someone in the company is pretty sure that Ryzom will be continuing on!

I've had interest in Ryzom for about a year or so now. I downloaded and installed the client around December of last year, but could never connect. Turns out that I just didn't have my router configured properly (booooo-hissss!). Then I got sidetracked with the trainwreck of Vanguard, lost interest in gaming for a bit (I tend to game in cycles), and am now back to Ryzom.

One question, if you do subscribe, is the level cap lifted for the starter island? I ask, cause I'm finding lots of mobs that are a bit over my level (read "killing me rather quickly").

Ahh i got derailed in the Vanguard Train Wreck. So i see Ryzom is teetering on the edge of a giant toilet about ready to flush.

Well cant possibly be worse than Vanguard or WoW
