A few newbie gameplay questions.

Hey folks,

Just started playing and I have a few questions:

1. Should I concentrate on a specific crafting skill?
I've spread my points around so I have no q20 skills and 0 skill points (craft level 21+). Should I just start over and concentrate on 1 branch?

2. Is it more efficient as a magic user to get fewer high level spells or a lot of medium level spells?

3. What are stanza credits based off of?
I have hp upgrade it says it will consume 5hp but this isn't the case. It eats up close to 20.

4. Why are people who are clearly too powerful still stay in the newbie zone?

That's it for now...

PS: Great community you have here. Very helpful individuals a little lonely in the newbie zone but never a lack of information from people.

Hello and welcome to the giant rootball mate :D
This thread got kinda lost in here so I stumbled upon it just by accident.

Hope you enjoy your stay.

Let me answer your questions:

1. In the beginning it actually makes a lot of sense to go ahead with most branches simultaneously (just for the sake of valuable SP points that you can spend at trainers for whatever craft you like most). Then later you can either:
a: Find that one craft that appeals to you the most
b: Join a cool guild and find out what kind of crafter they don't have yet :)
c: Keep going with all crafts just for the heck of it :D

2. When you just take your first steps in magic there are no "high lvl spells' per se since you yourself are rather low lvl. Higher lvl magic users have full arsenal of top attack and heal spells. Affliction spells are something that you look into after having the "general set" first. Some of the affliction spells like Fear are extremely useful . Others like Root or Madness are useful only in special occasions (boss hunts) still others like blind are not used that much at all...

At low lvls I'd advise to get top offensive and top healing spells + fear.

3. The stanza credits are realtive. Hp upgrade will only upgrade a relatively larger amount of hp than the previous one. Same with other stanzas. For magic best credit is range and worst - time. For melee best credit is stamina and wear out weapon if you have crafters in guild that can supply you with grind weapons.

4. There are many "alts" who either recruit or help new arrivals in the newbie zone. Their main character is on Mainland tho. There are also those players who like the game but either can not or don't want to pay :)

Have fun mate.
