Error when logging in from the char select

9 times out of 10 when I am attempting to login with a character, I keep getting stuck while trying to rez in. The screen shows it is loading up and the bar at the bottom with the pictures that fills up as it loads gets to the very last image then stops and won't do anything else. I am currently on a trial acct and considering upgrading, but this is a serious concern for me. Usually when I do a full system reboot I can sometimes maybe manage to get a toon logged in, but even rebooting is no guarantee. Anyone had/have this problem and a fix or work around for it?
Don't know what sys info you need so here's the generic...
Windows xp
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Processor
1024 mb ddr sdram dual channel
nVidia GeForce 7600 GS PCI express
And yes, I am up to date on all drivers for my system.

Firewalls/routers ports all open? Ryzom permissions allowed?

Yep, everything is square. I can log in sometimes, just for some reason, I often get stuck when loading from character select into the world.

Try switching to OpenGL if your not running it already?

Basically, what's happening is this. I login to character select. I choose my toon and log it in. I get stuck at 99% loaded. So, I do a full system reboot and try again. Rinse, repeat, etc until it works. Sometimes I get lucky and can login after only one reboot. However, having rebooted two times already today in an attempt to make it through the character login, it's getting a little old.

Ok, tried switching from auto to openGL, and still getting hung up... I'm going to have to go harrass the roomie and make him open all ports 'cause the router stuff is all latin to me. Hopefully, that's the issue and this will be what fixes since nothing else is working. I will post back as soon as I know if that does the trick or not.

Ok, all ports are open, ryzom already had free access through the firewall for anything and everything and I still am getting frozen when logging a toon in.

hmm, new one on me then. I've only ever known this problem to be network related. Hopefully somebody else will spot the thread and come up with a solution later. =)

Didn't figure I'd get a quick fix since it's pretty obvious something really weird's going on since I can login sometimes. If it were all or nothing it would possibly be easier to fix, as it is, not quite sure what's going on here.
Guess I'll just keep rebooting and trying to login and checking back here for any new fix ideas!
