Which vantage or disavantages have one or other?

Just depends. You'll need to look at stats to be able to make the final judgement. I have a 2h axe right now and hasn't done me wrong yet, not to say it's worse or better than a 2h sword. Again, it all just comes down to the stats.

I actually believe swords and axes have the same "potential" stats. By that I mean if you create both and axe and sword with the exact same stats, they will have the exact same stats. And as they both do slashing damage, the only real difference is graphical.

The problem with axes is that most crafters tend to pick up sword plans, not axe plans. But besides that, I'm fairly sure it's just a matter of what graphic you like better.

I can confirm that both weapons have the exact same recepie, the exact same stats, and the exact same type of damage.

I have not investigated the fighting trees fully, but perhaps when you specialize at very high level each might have some kind of special attack?? I have no clue.

Have to remember to look at this. Every action though when you edit it comes up with a window of what weapons it works with. Mayhap some work with the sword and others with the axe.

I have readed that the axe is lesser faster than the sword...

anyone confirm that?

I will also confirm that when using the same choice Q50 materials the 2-hand axes and swords that I make have identical stats (152 damage, 22 hits/min).
