Dear Community:
With all of the angst of late regarding the Community OP program I have decided it's just not worth the aggravation. I will therefore be giving up the Community OP's. It seems the fairest way to dispose of them is to return them to their original owners. It was they who graciously donated them to the community and they should ultimately decide their fate.
Demon's Crossroads will be returned to Team Spirit as it was they who held the OP for over a year before donating it to the Community. As for Southend Dune Farm, this was Zysha's OP and therefore there is no one to return it to. I had asked the guilds who participated in the Comm OP program to step forward and run this OP as a Comm OP and none has done so. Considering recent events, who can blame them. So I then asked member guilds from the Comm OP program to step up and take for themselves. Atys Ghosts was the guild who stepped forward first and we will turn over the OP to them.
I apologize to the community that I am no longer able to support the Comm OP concept. The program offered an opportunity for the "have nots" to participate in some of the rarer items in Atys. Avaricious players were generating too much acrimony within the community to a point where it seemed, for the sake of community, to just remove the focus of their diatribes. The last straw was seeing a member of Pyr Militia standing at the Pyr TP after creating an alt parodying my name with a vulgar guild name displayed. I have many friends with young children playing in game and, as a mother of young children myself, I don't want to be the cause, however inadvertently, of exposing young children to such behavior.
So the two Comm OP's will be turned over to the guilds stated. In the interests of fun and the GvG concept, the two guilds will initially switch OP's for a few days before accepting Ownership. AG will take Demon's Crossroads and TS will take Southend Dune Farm. After few days to a week they will switch to their rightful owners just as they existed prior to the Community OP program. And, before ya start with the "what Zysha would have wanted comments", I have talked to Zysha and she supports the proposed plan.
