Hello everybody =)
So i am another Newbie who just arrived on the Beginners Island
After playing 2 1/2 Years now WoW and GW, i needed something fresh and must say that i am very pleased with Ryzom so far.

I was actually a Closed-Beta Tester but when i tried it back in the Days, there were never more than 2 People online beside me so i never tried it again...untill 2 days ago

The Code of the Boxed Version is also just waiting to get used when i am ready to leave the Island.

Although, after reading through the English and German Forums, i am a bit confused about the Whining of so many Players, so many People seem so unsatisfied and that kinda stops my Enthusiasm a bit.

Plus i am a bit "scared" to leave the Island as i am not used to play MMORPGs without any Quests and such.

So i hope things will go good and Ryzom will keep me here.
Atm, i am a "loner" but i hope to find some new Friends here soon.

Let the whining on the forums not confuse you mate. The forums is the place were older players vent out those things they prefer to keep out of game
Basicly those same players will be 100 times friendlier in game than on these forums

Faction conflicts and such lead to a bit of flamethrowing and whining from both sides as you may well know

Just find yourself a friendly family and roll on - you'll never want to leave, trust me

I'm new too ... I'm going to start playing soon, maybe next week (I'm very busy at the moment).

I was thinking about buying the boxed version because I've found some copies at 6-7€ each on eBay. I know we don't need the box to play but I love box art ...

Just a question, I've read somewhere here on this BBS that the free month CD key that comes with the old retail box is useless for trial accounts, right? So zoriel and I won't be able to add the free month to our current trial account even if we start paying a monthly subscription, right?

We will be forced to cancel the current account and start a new regular account to take advantage of the free month ...

Because the Account Management still has an Option to add a Box Key and it clearly states that the Free Game Time will be added.

So i just figured it would be ok since i bought my Ryzom Copy on Ebay as well for 4 Euros

So i hope youre wrong and that it will work.

If you have any problems with upgrading your account or using the key code from a boxed copy of the game, please email billing-ee@ryzom.com and someone should reply to you during French work hours (approx. 8am - 4pm GMT on weekdays) to assist you

Hehe, i am just used to play on English Speaking Servers as i did that in every other Game
Plus i really like meeting People from all over the World and not only my fellow Germans xD

I hope I'm wrong too and I will probably try to buy one of the remaining retail boxes that I've found on eBay the other day (it was a German bid).

I am sure, as boroshi the Cummunity Manager said, that the Support would help us if the Code wouldnt be accepted.

So i just see things Positve, enjoy my Stay on the Beginners Island atm and am eager to explore soon more of Atys
