Problem with Ryzom Downloder on Vista

I can't get the downloder to work on vista ultimate. I gave the program all the permissions, ran it as admintried it from documents and disabled my firewall and nothing seems to make any difference.
I start Rysom downloader up and I get the error:
"Error impossible to load version infos. Please make sure your internet connection is opperating correctly"
Does anyone have any ideas?

Please ensure that port 40916 is open, this is the port to download version infos.
Also verify/edit these lines in the client_default.cfg :
StartupHost = "rslogin.juk.shards.nevrax.com:40916";
PatchServer="http://dl1.gfsrv.net:40916/patch_live";
InstallWebPage = "http://dl1.gfsrv.net:40916/installer/";

Are you upgrading from a recent version or reinstalling from older version ?
Other have had success with moving some game files to the documents folders, but this comp runs Vista off a forum download without a problem.

I'm installing from a new version
I verified the lines
and port 40916 is open
I tried it from the Documents flder, and it got farther, but it stalled at like 18% or something....

Try editing your hosts file and adding this line (to the end):
91.121.7.176 dl1.gfsrv.net
Vista users have to get around additional security when editing the hosts file. This
link is a good reference.

try these:
http://rslogin.juk.shards.nevrax.com:40916/login2/client_install.php?cmd=get_patch_url&lang=en&domain=ryzom_live
http://dl1.gfsrv.net:40916/patch_live/ryzom_live.version
these are the files Ryzom (installer and game) tries to open and both could give that error.
first should give you something like this

and second something like
also, if you did modifications to hosts file make sure you didnt made error in IP address or remove it completely.
.. and check and recheck you firewalls (one in windows, one in router)

ehh... ignore them.
things to check:
- is you windows firewall blocking ryzom access ?
- if you have any other firewall in windows (zonealarm, whatever they called), is that blocking ryzom internet access ?
- if you have router, does that block internet access ?
- check that you do not have dl1.gfsrv.net line in your hosts file
- can you check without router, does Ryzom work then ?
- can you check with other computer, does Ryzom work there?
- have you tried klients ?
if all answers are "no" and Ryzom still dont work, then Ryzom does not work in your software/hardware/isp setup.

Yah I downloaded the instal file from somewhere and the client seems to work, but I am unable to connect. Could it be that I am on a university network? I can play guildwars perfectly fine
