Boss farming...

This is one thing that REALLY annoys the crap out of me
ppl that farm bosses, and they do - yes the respawn time is 4ish days blah blah but they camped to death (litterally lol).
alot of players arent able to camp to the extent that these boss farmers do - you know who you are
hence id like to suggest an idea i had a while ago, to make things alot fairer =)
make Bosses respawn after 2-5 (randomish) hours, and then make the quantity of mats they drop after they respawn start at 5 Sup mat, and then increase by 1 mat every 1.5 hours there after untill the boss is killed - this would yeild the same total amount of attainable supremes from bosses over the same 4ish day period, but mean that camping is rather pointless, and more ppl can get a look in to killing bosses =)

and yeah it is fairer for everyone, sorry happy campers if u disagree cos u loose out (only partially mind)

not a bad idea
but i am afraid same campers sit then whole time on the bosses ok the really good ones...
i am more therefor to make the spawntime more randomly from 2 till dont know 6 days...
and then the more earlier it pops then less mats as after 6 day pop so same chances for all and chance of a jackpot for a pop after 6 days of dont know 85 mats or so
but i am afraid that even this long pop time dont change anything on camping for some people

Prehaps they would still camp, but waiting say 4 hours for respawn to then kill it straight away with a full team of 4-5 for only 5 sup mats would get rather tireing after the 3rd or 4th time.
id just like to see bosses more avaliable to those ppl that arent on at the "right" time even if a boss spawn was really random and someone got a whooping 100 mats from a boss that happened not to spawn for 8 days then its 100 mats all going to the 1 team.
id like things to be in *favour* of more equal distribution amongst the player base.
i wont hide the fact that id like to actually get to kill, for instance, Yelkoo for once lol even if i only got 6 teeth from it - ive never even seen the boss let alone killed it

I think bosses in ryzom are alot like the grind in ryzom, the more effort and time you put into it the more you get out and the better the reward. There is no 100% acurate way of knowing when a boss will pop, it is very possible to predict it within a few hours but even then its just the time taken to check on them.
I do think people leaving 2nd and 3rd pc's a bosses should be punishable, but then again the arguement could be they are just digging near them.
I like the current system and if your not getting may boss kills, simple put more time into checking and killin them.

thats true if you spend much time on looking for bosses you will find the one you are searching for sooner or later..

ahh, but thats why other MMOs invented instances

.. and we all know how bad-bad-bad-bad-bad-bad (did i say bad already ?) instances are, so we have these random (4 days +/- 1 sec or so) boss timers which require camping (either by siting in boss spawn pretending to be afk or visiting it from time to time because you "busy" close by).
you know, much-much-much-much better would be if boss minions would spawn, then you either need to kill them all or you get chance for boss spawn every few kills... and when we already dreaming, then maybe "normal" spawns could have a chance for named/boss spawn too ? boss should protect their minions, no ?

Good idea would be make bosses harder to kill. Now almost all can be killed with 2-4 ppl. Make it to 10-12 ppl so even campers would need to invite more ppl to help.
Other idea is to make more random spawn, lets say 24h +/- 24h. So after boss dead timer starts to count 24h and after that boss randomly spawn in another 24h.

Why won't to do like everyone can loot boss for its portion of mats? And the person can loot only once in say 24 hours? and boss respawns each 8 hours? (just as example), so much more ppl can make their attemt... or smth like that...
Think the goal is to make useless for ppl who killed boss to kill it once more for some number of his spawns, and to make it harder to know exact time and place of boss spawn

I'm not even on the mainland yet, and this does sound good.
I don't mind instances, but I'd rather it be 'open world', so these ideas would help.

How about the boss remembers each homin from the team that killed them the last time, and maybe the time before that. Then if one or more of the homins come along the next time all minions are sent at once to smack 'em. >
