The game servers will be closed for patching on Monday 23rd July from 8am to 12pm GMT. (4 hours) Read the news here.

I'd hold back on all that before we know 10 other things didn't get broken.

We're aware that some players are having problems with the new patch and are currently investigating the issue. Thanks for your patience and hopefully it will be resolved quickly

Update:

If you have the "stream does not contain at least xxxxxx bytes" error, the approved fix is as follows:

• Open the Ryzom folder on your harddrive
• Make a copy of your \save\ folder so you have a backup
• Open the \save\ folder (not the backup) and delete the file "string_client.pack"
• Start the game!

Once you have verified that you can log in as normal, open up the backup version of the \save\ folder and delete the "string_client.pack" from there too

Well, the patch has been a mess, but I have to give you GF people credit for keeping us updated properly during the mess.
