My husband and I are really enjoying the game so far but we are having a problem with just a few things.

1)The art of harvesting number 4 is asking for us to locate Fine Zun Amber, my hubby and I have been trying to find this for hours now. I am not sure how to re-pull up the quest directions from the Npc we were having so much fun last night and it got really late when we took this quest so we did not pay attention very well. Newbie Island.

2) Why is there no jump in the game?

3) Is there any way to locate a specific item while out prospecting?

I think that is it.

1) I'm no expert one the island but I believe if you missed the NPC "spoken" information and you can't make out what to do from the journal instructons you'll either have to hope someone else remembers the missions, (Try asking in region or CSRs) or restart.

2) Never had the need

3) Later on harvesters can train tracking skills (up to 500m I think) and you get to play hot and cold to find what your looking for. =)

Try to find zun amber by the Kami Enclave.

-hint-: Mission text on that one stated to use 50m tracking with fine only behind the karavan embassy

I vaguely remember the fine zun being behind the Karavan enclave, The mission is to use the tracking stanza to zero in on it.
If you ask nicely, someone on Silan who has it landmarked (hint.. landmark all your resource spots ) might show you the spot.

Jump is not part of the Ryzom experience, its irrelevant, and a puzzle as why people ask for it

Later skills in harvesting allow you to specify what material, what grade, and how many lumps of it, over a large search area.. plus the tracking skill which improves in range and tunability also.

Working as a pair, you will find much of ryzom easier than anyone going solo. in combat the ability to heal each other -between fights if not actuallly during - will speed your experience, and digging will be a much less explosive experience with a full time Care planner.. its worth it

To iwojimmy because jumping threw the fields is so much fun!

And thank you all for your response that was about one of the hardest to find.

As i understand it there is no jumping cuz devs went for graphics instead of mindless jumping around towns when they created this game ( around 4 years ago and still best graphics i saw in any MMO )

A li'l jump would be a nice thing; I've come across so many little ridges and roots that I have to walk around - that's the way it is, and I'm truly sorry, but it's a small sacrifice to pay to see Atys.

wasnt how I intended that.
If you want scathing, start talking about Big Brother, (any nation) Idol, or Paris Hilton.

There are two main reasons why there is no jump in the game:

1. not having the 3rd coordinate result in less overall network traffic, allowing a high number of ppl (and Mobile Entities, that need to be sent too) in the same region with an acceptable lag.

2. if you see how the world is designed, paths can be a trap or they give you some more chance to kill a mob. This means you actually need good knowledge of the territory around, and this is part of the game experience and difficulty.
