..my next episode is going to be all about the Trykers, followed the next week by one about he Zorai, then the Fyros then the Matis. SO, out of curiousity, how many of you play Trykers as your main? If you could post a funny tryker story or reason WHY you play one let me know!

No option for "I used to have a Tryker alt and enjoyed it" or "I have a Tryker alt and I enjoy it."

Baeu, you also got to take into consideration that many people may decide after a period of time to align them selfs with another civilization then their native one... For example Biskibis is a tryker by appearance and birth but is more of a fyros by his beliefs and understandings of Atys.

How about the use of Trykers as 'slaves'... I know quite a few

Both main char and slave are tryker just cos they are small and sneaky ... And handsome obviously

I started the game playing a zorai and not really played any other race besides fyros seriously. I find trykers stupidly short, trying to dodge agro its good to be to see over the herbs who like to hide agro, just my thoughts tho

Started a Tryker, always played a Tryker as main character since. I had a Zorai for a short while as an alt but he got taken by the Goo; he was more an experiment to get a chance at the different pov when everything seems small to you. There's 3 alts that hardly venture out, but they as well are Trykers.

In any RPG or MMO I've played I had to have a sort of rogueish character. After reading up on the race's lore for Ryzom it was obvious I had to pick a Tryker. They're rogueish by nature, rebels, freedom loving, jovial, charishing the good life. But they're also naive at times, when it comes to picking friends, the iddilic bond with family that permeates through their religion, and their love for commerce that has been the cause of so many of their problems.

There is also the way they portray themselves towards the other races, a sort of haughtyness but nothing like the Matis. The individual is very important in Tryker society, their whole clan/family ideaology and political system is based around that. Because they are the only race so far to have a 'democratic' government (the Fedral State) where the head of state is directly elected by the people (for the people), opposed to the Absolutist Monarchy of the Matis, the Dynasty and castes of the Zoraï and the Republic of the Fyros Empire, that is why they may consider themselves to be 'better off' than their neighbours. Partially the result of past enslavement, opression, annexation and bullying towards them, they resent master-subject relations. And then there is ofcourse the fact of the Tryker's real 'shortcommings' they hope to make up for by their jests, puns, wit and jokes towards all other races. They want to be considered on equal footing with the rest above all.

It's rather the whole picture that drew me in, not just their merrits, but their flaws as well; imperfection makes for interesting roleplay.

I play a Fyros and my son plays a Tryker cause when we together in game, it looks like is in RL too.....well except for the face tatoos....and except for wearing a dress.....well except for the pointie hairdo.

It's a pretty common occurrence as I have many friends whose kids and grandkids are / were trykers.
