Is there a way to do an in-game raffle?

OOC:
I've wanted to do in-game raffles for a few event concepts. However, I don't how to do them in a way that is in-game, random and indisputably fair. Does anyone know how to do one? I'm sure a CSR would flip a coin fairly but equally sure someone would doubt them. One could have everyone pick the last 2 digits of the next day's Dow Jones Industrial Average or something - but that seems inelegant and out-of-game. Is there a working random function ingame?

yea there was a um.. /random x i think? ... i'll have to log in and find the command again but there _IS_ a way to 'pick a number' -based purely on chance - you don't get to decide..
figure its time to log in then
.. back to repost in a few.

yup, confirmed it's /random (number)
i just tried it twice and got (in sysinfo) "Nightblade made a 47 in a draw between 1 and 100" after doing /random 100
hope that works for ya?

You can also use, for example, "/random 34 68" to get a random number between 34 and 68.
Just for completeness' sake, not that it really adds anything.

The problem is that the \random display only shows in a player's sys info. So for a public raffle drawing, I'm not sure that \random is useful.

Yep, everyone around you can see what number you drew, and between what numbers you drew it. No cheating possible. The only complaint one could have is that the Ryzom random number generator isn't known for it's randomness.
