Few Suggestions Since I Started!

1) Were all human we have the urge to be funny sometimes or even talk. How about making Uni chat General chat and in fact add a new chat called Help. Last few days it is the holidays many of us including my self have sort of abused this once or twice. We all like talking with the lower population and especially at night this would be a very big welcome.

2) Trade trade and more trade. The biggest part of this game if not the biggest specialty of this game is trade. Why not add in a default trade channel with it disabled so new players don't get spammed by it. Heck if you guys can put even more effort make so you can post ur item right into the trade channel. And now this not a WoW thing this features been in many other games before that game ruined all other good games.

3) Storage storage and more storage. Few people are more ups and downs for this idea then the last 2 ideas. Add bigger houses or at lest houses where buy more storage or be able own multipliable houses. I know we have 3x packers and your house but that to me as a new player is not enough at all. I found most the time spending my self hanging around higher level teams and getting higher level loot and of one kind. Rather then force to npc sell it I keep it till get more of the other materials to make the items I need. At higher level its not as bad as I can tell u only need to keep a stockpile ready not tons and tons for leveling.

4) the new player area needs a page that pops up when you start in the world. it has to be big and plain english telling you to learn the game please talk and follow the instructions of the following npc. I have had already few buddys try and quit within 10min as they died none stop were confused and just did not understand. I also was one these people but when it hit 9mins someone asked if i was new and took me on the grand tour. But theres not going be always someone there.

These are just some ideas even a group channel be nice. You can make fun of it add to the list or just ignore it :)

Thanks for the wonderful experience so far in Ryzom and I hope to continue this fun for years to come.

PS: Sorry for my bad english :)

suggestions 1,2&3 have already been made. many times. maybe one day something will change.

when you first start there is a big box welcoming you to atys and telling you how to move and to follow the mission journal. the first mission is to go and speak to chiang the stong (who is directly in front of you) who sends you around the varoius npc's. all the missions give you a good insight on how to fight/craft/forrrage and the stanza system. the information is there.

if people dont' read the information they will miss a lot.

and welcome to atys :)

Yes, all of this has been said before and the Info is there to read, you only have to do it. *sigh*

But, a group channel? Mind you, it´s called Team-Channel here, but its there for your use.

Like you said, WoW destroyed a lot of other good games with its easyness, this game now takes a little getting used to. Once you get past that, I´m sure even your friends will enjoy it. ;)

CU & Welcome to Atys

Actually the "looking for group" and trade channels have been in MMO's years before WOW, I even remember some game where you had to type in channel number to join the one you needed...

Already suggested but I do really think we should not stop asking for an REAL Universe channel as opposed to a Q&A channel..

Universe could be used for crafting, buying, grouping or just chatting while digging and would be really beneficial to all players, especially new player base:
after a month, you are out of silan, on mainlands in area 50-100: you are simply ALONE, you need find ppl: answer you get is:
"Universe is for Q&A only blablabla" result: you are even more alone now as noone can help you....
THIS IS REALLY URGENT as opposed to crafting ranging or whatever fix they should think about...

Jk mode on with semantic: at the end of the day as far as I know:
"Do anyone want to group?" is a question so could be allowed on the Q&A channel ....

GET US one channel (moderated if needed no problem) where we can speak about anything that is OOC on current Universe channel..

Even at a few 250 in a solo guild, my ryzom experience would surely be enhanced with such channel (especially when friend list is empty)....

There is a faction channel for those who join the Karavan or the Kami.

Yup. so pls make a netural channel.. ;) (and a mission so only mainland people can take it..)

I am against having a trade channel. You suggested that it start muted, this is becuase you know it will get spammed.

If you want to buy somthing special, you can ask in region, and 99% of the time someone will know a crafter (if you are in a guild even better). If you want to sell something special then put it on bazar, word gets around pretty quickly. and you'll probably end up with a better deal. For normal/mundane items there is always a healthly supply of items on sale. Only takes a couple of mins.

as for LFG, i cant rember which game it was but you typed '/LFG' and it would auto add your name to a list (untill you typed /lfg again) and a box appeared, automaticly filtered to people near your level. was a very nice feature. no need for a channel, means everyone can do it in /tell 's :)

That is, whenever a non-KA Karavan dude shows his head in Karavan chat and says hi he gets a full page of "stfu Kamivan spy" and other crap thrown at him

LOL! So very not true! I am a non-KA Karavan dude (I left and started my own guild a year ago and we are Karavan but not members of the so called KA) and I have never been called a Kamivan spy or treated with anything other than courtesy and respect by other Karavaneers.

Fully agree with the anti-trade channel, see Guildwars for a gross example of trade channel spam.

the /lfg example you are reffering to was evercrack...er evercrap...um everquest lol :-P they have since modified it to pop up a window to effectively search available groups and other people looking for group.

I despise that game and the company behind it, but they have some good features including the lfg and guild management windows.

I fully agree with the need for 2 universal channels, one for general chat and one for questions and answers. However, that being said, who would keep up with the Q&A channel except the CSRs. Without a doubt, most players would be chatting on the chat channel and would not be available for the new player questions.

Our new players get a lot of replies and opinions simply because there is only one universal channel.

If you can work this out, I'm all for it.
