Range Weapons / Fighting

I am unable to creat any range weapons or gain skills in range fighting. I am still on the island.
Is this skill tree only for the mainland?

You can't create any range weapons or buy them on the island, yes it's only available on the mainland. For the skill tree, the max level I have in range is 21, not sure how I even got to 21 in the first place

The "ranged" skill tree does not show until you reach lvl 21 when you get the very first branching of the Fight skills tree. So all the skills at the branch point start at 21.

Thank you, now I can stop running around trying to find the NPC that I missed. See you soon on the mainland.
