Hello,
I started the free trial a few days ago, had some problems with disconnects and almost left. however the CRS were so quick to respond and helpful I was quite impressed and gave the game a second chance.

It is a fun game, I have one character at almost 20 on all 4 branches. so I may be subscribing soon. I am however having a hard time deciding between Fyros and Matis. my current character is Fyros and I like it but Matis are hawt too

I will like to ask a few questions.

Player housing, is there any? and if so, how is it implemented? can players build/controll towns?

The support on Ryzom has always had the most impeccable reputation, and I am very happy to hear that it continues so well.

There's no building new structures here, but you can buy apartments in each of the four nation capitals. Only one apartment for each character. They are entirely uncustomizable and essentially only used for storage or a little peace and quiet and privacy since you cannot currently have any visitors at all .

There is really no difference in the races per se. All races can wear/use other races items and once you've been trekked to all the regions can craft other races stuff as well. I am Matis living in Pyr. I found Pyr alot more challenging then my homelands even though thats kinda unfair since I spent only 2 weeks in Yrkanis and the surrounding areas.
The only thing players or rather guilds can control are Outpost. And lately there has been a rash of conflicts between guilds for control of them which has amounted to alot of fun for all.

but now im ready to try this game out !
