Can't Install

A few months ago my computer died. I have since gotten a new computer but I have a problem with Saga of Ryzom.
I tried to reinstall Saga of Ryzom from my original disks. They are of course very out of date because I bought the game several years ago.
I reinstalled the game expecting that it would download the necessary updates and patches but it downloads for about 20 or 30 minutes and then gives me an error message. The function that is suposed to automatically forward the error message failed to work but the message says something about file failing to decompress.
I then went to the Ryzom site and tried to download a new copy of the game. I have tried to do this four times. First the download 1 on the Ryzom site doesn't work it downloads for a few seconds and then stops saying that it's finished. Of cource it has not finished and as soon as I try to unpack the game it crashes.
The download 2 gives me a 10 to 12 hour download but when it finishes and I try to unpack the download it says that Data1.cab and Data11.cab are corrupted.
Can I get an updated version on CD somewhere or a place where I can download the program where the data won't be corrupted?
It's been very fustrating.
I came here are saw this announcement:

We are testing a new Ryzom client installer. The goal is to make Ryzom easier to download and to install.
On the website, the file to download will be a reasonably small executable (less than 40 MB) instead of the installshield of 1.7 GB. Once downloaded, you will launch it and it will propose to download around 610 MB of files, which are needed to play on the Ruins of Silan. Once installed, RoS would use around 3.3 GB of space on your hard disk.
You will also have the possibility to download the rest of the game while you are playing on RoS. You would have around 800 MB to download (mainland and Ring). The files will auto-extract in your Ryzom folder that will use around 6.5 GB of space once Ryzom is fully installed.
All these downloads will be resumable."
Any idea when this will go live?
Thanks
Peter
