If you are new here, and maybe feel a little confused in game, feel free to ask questions! If there's one thing this noob has learned is that the community is one of the greatest out there! They are always willing to help and to lead! So ask away!
And oh yeh, I'm Beau, the Cutest Tryker on Atys! (TM)

Uhm a was told on a forum on mmorpg.com.. that this mmorpg actually had RP in it.. is that right?.. I'm playing WoW at the moment, but seeing all those noobs ( I do mean noobs as they don't follow the rules and don't care about others ) really makes my Rolerplayer heart bleed, so I'm looking for a new game where I won't experience that, but where the game is made for RP, and where the GMs try to enforce RP as well as the players
Have I come to the right place? if not.. do you then know another place that might be better for me?

Honestly I don't know if there is a better game for RP then Ryzom. I've tried many, many games and this one seems to be the most RP centric of them all. Exception might old school SWG, which is dead as far as I know.
Coupled with amazing graphics an open world and a fantastic community I don't how you could go wrong
SO I'd recommend you try it for a month or so and let yourself fall in love, of course not everyone is an RPer but it's also not uncommon for people to log in and only speak in character, which is so cool imo.
Anyway have fun on Atys!

Thank you very much hazira... I am already kind of in love with the game ^^.. I just need to try it.. I want to see if this game has more lesser noobs ruining the fun for the serious RPers, tha WoW has...
What about the IG functions? are there small inns you can be at, and talk to people? campfires? and all that stuff that makes a world more real and alive?

What do you mean by "enforce"? I'm a non roleplayer, I've no intrest in roleplaying but I don't make fun of roleplayers for doing what they enjoy and in local chat I'll try not to break roleplayers immersion. Does that require "enforcing"?
With that possible over reaction from me out of the way, Ryzom has a strong roleplaying community with a good amount of respect from non roleplayers and roleplayers towards each other. I can't tell you much more then that except that out of the MMOs I have played it is the best for that mutual respect that I have seen.

One thing would be the animal AI. For example herbivores if they notice you will run over to check you out for a while and then run back to their normal area. Preaditors will attack herboives not just players.
Roleplayer hangouts I have no idea, there are a few bars and a forge and a bathhouse in Pyr but I've no idea if they are used by roleplayers much. The
Sega part of the forum might have more imformation about them.

Yes there are lots of places to hangout in all the major and minor cities on the mainland. As Ashling mentioned there are bars and vacant areas within various buildings.

If that is how it is everywhere.. then I already see it as enforced as on WoW they didn't treat RPers with respect.. not even on the RPservers. I've been called noob after making a detailed emote, or living out my character... on a RPserver... I guess that kind of things doesn't happen on Ryzom?
Oh and another thing.. can people challenge each other everywhere? if yes.. then are there players who just challenge others without asking first?.. that also happens a lot on WoW
Does people use leet speak in public.. like "hey u I'm lvl 34 now, you wanna duel?"?... IC there is normally not something like lvl.. there are skills, so that's normally considered non RPing
