Ryzom is not new to me. I was playing it a year ago, but due to the lack of info and learning from the newbe island, I'm totally lost in mainland. Then I quit.

After venture to other MMO games that not quite provide the main 'oomph' to me like Ryzom, I decide to give it another go.

And I really like the tutorial in newbie island, now call Silan. This time, I'm gonna take my time explore it before I really prepare to go to mainland.

Also, I would like to make some friends there as well. Nothing beats to have a nice gang roaming for exploring.

See you all in-game.

Hello and welcome! ;)

I also had tried the other trial about a year ago, left for the mainland because I got bored and quickly found myself frustrated and very lost.
This time around though I've had a very different experience, my time on Silan has been a ton of fun, I had the chance to play with some really nice people and really get a feel for the crafting, digging systems which are such a big part of the game. ^^

I've just landed on the mainland and I'm really excited as opposed to lost and apprehensive last year. I think you'll find Silan a lot easier to understand and a nice way to be introduced to the game. Some people say, and rightly so, that Silan gives new players a skewed impression of the mainland though. Even though there's credit to that, I also found it a nice cushy way to be introduced to what Ryzom is about. As long as you bear in mind that Silan is primarily a tutorial, of course we are also getting newbie missions arriving on the mainland for more cushiness, not sure how those are yet if they are even implemented yet, though I did see the NPC when I warped to my home city..

So I think you'll probably really enjoy Ryzom if you are coming in with a prior exposure, hope you have a lot of fun. :D

Nicely said Hazira. While I find it good to point out to new players that the mainland is not as mission driven as Silan, it is a great tutorial for learning how the different skill lines work :)
