I cants stands no more.

Getting rid of Jolt is pretty much the final nail in the coffin with Phelan's IRC chat answers, or lack thereof, being the first clod of earth being shoveled down on top. The CSRs and the state of the community are symbiotic and are the two things that Ryzom consistently had head and shoulders above its rivals.
Not any longer.
Ever since Patch 1 Ryzom has been on the reactive rather than the proactive, flailing about trying different things, never really completing them. Outposts could have saved the game, but were half-arsed and turned everything into a PvP fest. R2 could have saved the game but without hosting and slightly more complete tools its a lame duck.
Now, from the chatlogs it seems that Gameforge's aims and goals and those of me as an RPG player diverge too badly and I'll join the ranks of the people making an exodus 'somewhere' else. I just don't think they appreciate what they've taken over and are sacrificing everything that makes Ryzom worthwhile trying to get money out of it, which will ironically probably make it less appealing.
Its been fun, I thought I'd be here when the servers were switched off, but in the end the servers are still on but the game I fell in love with has been switched off. We told some great stories, had some great events, but in the end that old love just isn't enough without hope for the future.
Its like Invasion of the Bodysnatchers, but with an MMO.
Anyway, see you in one of the upcoming MMOs that values RPing and lets people skip the PvP.
*salute*

kinda amusing that all you say boils down to "i don't like pvp".
if you'd actually take the time, read through what phelan said and consider REALITY, you might realize that never before have we gotten so sensible and honest communication from above.
anyhow, it was long time you go look for something that better suits you. i hope you'll be able to find it, god knows you need some happiness.

Sad to see you go, Jyudias. You've been a great asset to the community, whether some people would like to admit it or not. I hope to see you come back some time. But until then, so'long, and good luck!
You'd be missed, friend.

Before there was hope for a change of direction or parallel development. I don't think we are being talked to honestly, there's been a malaise hanging over for a while because nobody's known what the bloody hell GF had in store. Now we know (a little) and its just snuffed out the last ember of hope for the future that was remaining.
Without good support to keep the negative stuff in check, things will just get worse.

I wish they would just work off the idea I gave for OPs, would make them SO much better... And get both crafters and diggers invovled...

little tidbit of info that came up in the german chat later on:
remember the quests he talked about? gameforge/nevrax has 69 almost completed quests in the works that were abandoned and forgotten about by nevrax earlier.
yup, gf is definitely only thinking of pvp. \o/

Who says there wont be support? I dont get that out of the log files of the chats.... yes there will be a change, the CSR's wont be the same, but did u really think GF would keep everything the same as before? Main point is this game is losing money and if one way to cure that is ending the Jolt contract, well thats how it will be, what can we do about that? Nothing, i can find myself in the saying they havent been open with us, hence the fact Phelan seems to care more for the German community then the others..... we had to get the news from a German player translation of what he said on the German part of the forums <---- thats where it is going wrong, not with the ending of the contract of Jolt, how much it may hurt for most.
Sad to see u go although i never know u or ever will, it was fun to read your posts, they made the sky of Ryzom a lot clearer for me

tr808, language is still a problem and it actually goes both ways. manpower and time is short and translations take time. as such the news go out by phelan and marjo in whatever way is fastest. my translation this morning simply saved phelan the need of writing a lengthy post here. on the other hand, the whole irc chat of this night, will probably never be translated to german. there is noone playing favourites, simply circumstances resulting in certain things.

German is the new French.
I think that may be why we're seeing a little defensiveness. Maybe the next owner will be British

I find it rather funny that one of your last posts is one that I agree with
While we rarely saw eye to eye, its still a shame to see someone leave the game after playing it for so long and wanting to see it succeed.
Have fun where you end up, Judy
