Why should I subscribe?

I have played the free trial twice and I'm trying it again. I kind of like the game, but it tends to get boring in that island, plus I don't have a lot of time to play... Maybe 5 hours a week... So, what changes when you subscribe? I've read a lot of mainland but I'm still not convinced... Anyone feels like shedding a light?

Main reason, better people on the mainland. Find a good guild, which almost all of them are, and you will be able to spend time with some of the best players in any MMO. If I had only 5 hours a week, I'd want to spend it with people who spell out every word and might even use punctuation. You will find that on the mainland

I suppose that's a good reason. But I dunno, I'm afraid of ending up bored again.

One day a mate twisted my arm to play this game. That same day I made Jayce, went to the mainland, and joined a guild.
It'll be two years this Wed, still playing the same char, still in the same guild and I still learn something new about the game almost every day.

In fairness, you are a slow learner

I'm afraid of the new changes, I can't post in the general threads but what I've read there since yesterday has been somewhat disturbing. I was thinking Gameforge was doing a lot of good things and most of their points are understandable and I even commend them for trying to make this game more successful financially, but the dismantling of the events team that seems to have well beloved is cause for some concern.
I may wait until there's an official announcement about new events and a new events team before I give them money.
I hope that's soon.
Edit: Now reading chat log ...

Well it's up to you to wait or not, I only have one other mmo on the horizon that might grab me, but it's being released in the summer in NA, so I have quite a few months to try something else out. For my part I will subscribe for 3 months, that should be lots of time to make friends and see if I can find a home on Atys
To have a good idea of where Gameforge wants to go check out the chat logs with Phelan from today:
