Hello, there seems to be some confusion over the new sub rates. Please refer to
this news, which will explain the situation.

I really think u guys should send another email then, the one i got from u guys clearly told me: From now on ur subscription fee is 9,90 euro a month! It didnt say anything about having to buy 6 months.... i feel kinda cheated in some sort of way :/
exect text from the email:
Furthermore we want to reward faithful customers, the longer you play, the less you pay. From now on you can play Ryzom from 9,90 Euros/month, saving more than 30%!

You "can" play does not say you "will" play from now on... *coughcough*

I read that with my usual scepticism, but it really does say the same thing as the long-term rates table. You can play *from* (i.e., this is the lowest possible price) 9.9 Eu./mo. The phrase "the longer you play" means "the longer you sign up for" as well, as "the longer your elapsed time on game."
It could have been clearer simply by putting all the information into the email, but that's not what happened. I just went to the subscription cost page, and found the same thing as before.
I'm just starting my second month of month-by-month. I figure if I'm still being interested after the end of this one, I'll get one of the longer terms.

Well I would point you to
News wrote:Note: when you subscribe, you pay immediately for your whole selected period. The 1 year option isn't available anymore.
But that's contradicted by
News wrote:your 3/6/12 months subscription will be automatically renewed should you not have changed your subscription option in the meantime.

THe new subscription prices are okay for me.
The email I received was not.
- it was in german, but I always was a member of the english community
- it was written as if I had quit a long time ago
- it describes 'new' features that were in game since 2005 as new
- it is too much marketing language in it
So I understand that my eMail client thought it is scam.

I tend to a gree. Although I understand the need to give some publicity and increase subscriber numbers, the form could be improved. Maybe GF is targetting current existing players *and* potential or inactive ones. Even if that is the case, using "the same letter for both" is not acceptable and shows little consideration

When I received the letter I was a bit "WTH"
* "Many new great features" (PR language -- the "many" is arguable. The "great" too).
* I don't like the (hidden) idea that those features are "part of the new era". Those features have been being developed for months, tested, etc. back in the Nevrax era. Pretending that these are "new" from "this era" is somehow not honest. GF is giving continuity to Ryzom and now owns the assets. GF may deliver the "new Ryzom Kitin Lair", but development started months ago.
* " You can now change the hairstyle of existing characters" we've been able to do so since long time ago. I guess it was meant "new hairstyles are available", and the person who wrote the news does not play Ryzom (regularly)
* " Furthermore we want to reward faithful customers" I guess you want to reward "from now on" faithful customers, not those that have been around since long
* "We look to see you soon, once again part of the community" soon? I've been here. Once again? maybe it is badly written, but I did not quit the community, I humbly *am* part of the community. I am starting to think about it tho.
