Gameforge / Phelan

Hi everyone!
First of all, I have to apologize for not speaking French.
Let me introduce myself: I am Phelan, working for Gameforge in Germany, currently heading our new company in Paris (former Nevrax).
When we found out that Nevrax was to be liquidated, we took a look at the game. The game is great, so we contacted Nevrax and jumped into a plane to meet the people working there.
Pretty soon we had the impression, that Nevrax and Gameforge are a perfect match. We were both gaming companies, and thinking along the same lines.
A few words on Gameforge:
We are a German gaming company, we have around 5 million active accounts in 16 games in 22 countries. We started with browser games, but have already published our first client based game (though this one is nowhere near as good as Ryzom)
We have around 40 employees, so pretty much the same size as Nevrax.
What are you going to have to expect from the merger?
We will be very careful when we change anything on the game, so it will be some time before you can expect anything major there. Right now our plan is to increase the number of Players by advertising Ryzom on our other games.
As you saw, we are working on the website right now, modified the signup form (from 7 steps to now only one). Next step will be to make the website more performant, as the number of clicks will increase tremendously. Next we will make some changes to keep the new players we get through our advertisement.
The first change will be to choose where you end up after leaving the Ruins of Silan. I read some of you complaining that this is silly, as it would be so easy to create a new character and level him again. Well, for players who have played quite some time this is absolutely true, for new players it is not.
Why haven't I posted in the French section so far?
Well, we already have an excellent Gameforge France representative there: Marjo. What she says is an official statement of our company.
Stay tuned,
Phelan
