Ryzom

Hello.

After this new patch, i have been unable to login due to this error i am recieving, the first time round i selected my character and then it simply crashed, now it doesn't get as far as character selection.

Any ideas?

Looks like it is finding a problem with a Direct3D library. Launch the Ryzom configuration app and force Ryzom to use OpenGL and see if that helps. I think you probably need to reinstall Ryzom using a recently downloaded installer, in which case I suggest you copy your Ryzom/save folder somewhere first.

Forcing it into OpenGL got me all the way up to almost getting logged in
I'll go ahead and delete it all and download the game again in the next day or so, no time tomorrow what with christmas and all.

Welcome If it's crashing just at the point when the game is about to draw your character and the surrounding landscape, then your textures for that region may well be corrupted. Try clicking Check Data on the login screen.

Go to microsoft and download the latest DirectX end user runtime installer.

Then go to the appropriate video chip website (nvidia or ati) and get the driver installer for your video card.

Install/update DirectX
Reboot
Remove your current video drivers
Reboot
Install video drivers

Thanks alot guys, forgot to post last night when i actually got online again.
All my problems solved, downloaded the newest ATI drivers and redownloaded/installed the game, works like a charm.

I'am getting the same error but I've downloaded and installed all the new drivers for my vid card. It gets to the create new character screen, I click create and then a window pops up with [error]Log with no filter. Will uninstalling and then reinstalling work?

It should do, it worked for me.
